Give a snapshot of your career progression over the years at Markelytics?
My journey with Markelytics started a good decade ago. I started as a trainee survey programmer, and over time I saw myself developing into a seasoned professional with exceptional programming skills – thanks to my hard work, analytical abilities and the synergy within the team of the highly competent workforce. As a natural progression, I was given the responsibility to manage and move forward with the Survey Programming team which I have been effectively doing for over five years now. That’s what I have to say about my #10yearchallenge.
Over this span of time, I am pleased to say that I had opportunities to work with some fantastic minds. Markelytics was and is a skilled workforce production and talent nurturing hub. I am sure it will remain the same and grow multifold in coming years with the visionary management in place. I would like to thank the Management team at Markelytics for their trust in me and every kind of support they have offered me throughout these years in building a robust team to what it is today. Personally, Markelytics has given me an identity and groomed me into thinking big with which I have been able to raise my target bar constantly. I will always be grateful for that.
Describe your team.
We are a team of 30 young and capable minds with a right mix of gender and age demographics. The average age of the team is 25! It is a pretty young and energetic with a blend of experienced professionals and young prodigies all working towards a common goal of delivering the exceptional.

What is your management style?
I adopt a mix of Task-oriented and People-oriented management styles. No one style suits all situations. Collaboration is the key. I usually collaborate with the team to brainstorm solutions, discuss options and understand opinions to work towards one goal.

I never lose. Either I win, or I learn.
Role of your team in the success of Markelytics.
Survey Programming lays the foundation for data collection. We program web surveys. Our team manufactures the front end which meets respondents. Keeping respondents engaged by building interactive surveys to collect data is what we do day in and day out. Needless to say, a good share of Markelytics’ success is definitely attributed to our team given the importance of the operational work.

What are the three things that you look out for before hiring any candidate?
Hmmm. Three things; in the following order: right attitude for the job, skillset and teamwork abilities. I always put the first attribute on top. A candidate with the right attitude towards work is important. Skills can always be taught.
